Research Museums in Dresden, Germany

Today I will Look for musems in Dresden, Germany, about the designs and what the famous museums in Dresden.

Dresden have manys museums around 48 museum and I will talk about the most famous one.

First one I will talk about it the New Masters Gallery ( Galerie Neue Meister- at The Albertinum)

Floods in 2012 did a lot of damage to the Albertinum, but it has been fixed up and is now a great place to show off one of Dresden's most important art collections. From the Romantic period to the 21st century, the New Masters Gallery has works by Gerhard Richter, who was born in Dresden, and the famous Die Brücke group, as well as Impressionists like Monet and Degas and Caspar David Friedrich, who was the best German Romantic artist.

The Bundeswehr Museum Military History

The second one I will talk about is The Bundeswehr Museum Military History, I chose this museum because there is some part of the building similar to my project. Also, The Bundeswehr Museum of Military History was built in the 1870s. In 2011, the US architect Daniel Liebeskind renovated and added to it. The addition of Liebeskind's clear arrowhead changed the story of its neoclassical facade in a beautiful way. The exhibition in Liebeskind's addition is organised by theme instead of time, and it looks at things like "war and memory" and "animals and the military." From the Middle Ages to the present day, including the two World Wars, the history of Germany's military is told chronologically in the old building. This is a very complicated subject.

Comments

  1. Okay, some decent research here (include references please). As the Albertinum houses some of the Expressionist works, your museum could be for Expressionist art ONLY. I think that is important because it gives your design a PURPOSE that makes it unique. It could be a combination of painting, film, fashion and sculpture and could cover the period between 1905 and 1933 (when the Nazi's took over Germany and banned a lot of the work that was made in this period.) I strongly recommend that you visit the Expressionist exhibition at New Walk Museum in Leicester to get some more background information about the movement.
